This Small Business Saturday, we’re pausing to reflect on something that feels especially true in our world: the packaging industry may be small, but its impact is everywhere.
At Serviform America, we work with die makers, converters, and cutters across North America. Many of them are small shops—family-owned, multi-generational businesses with deep roots in their communities. They’re not usually in the headlines. But behind every box on the supermarket shelf, every Amazon delivery on the doorstep, there’s a shop and a team that made it possible.
Our own journey started much the same way. Over time, we’ve grown into a leading supplier of die making equipment across the country. But no matter how far we’ve come, we haven’t outgrown the values we started with.
Because at its heart, this is a craft.
Diemaking is more than a process—it’s an art form. It’s about skill, precision, and grit. Every cut, every bend, every placement matters. It’s the kind of work that demands focus and discipline, but also carries with it a deep sense of pride.
It’s common to hear our own team members say, “I never realized how much went into making a box until I started working here.” Or “Now I pick up a box and think about the people and machines behind it.” That quiet realization—that everyday things are made possible by extraordinary people—is what makes this industry special.
And while technology has advanced and machines have gotten faster, the foundation remains unchanged: craftsmanship, reliability, trust.
So today, we say thank you. To the shops with ten people or two. To the businesses where the owner still runs the machine. To the teams who stay late to finish a rush job. You are the backbone of this industry, and we are proud to stand alongside you.
No matter how much we grow, we’ll always carry the mindset of a small business—because we know that’s where the real strength of this industry lives. And we’ll always honor the craft that shapes it.
